The Search Playing Field
I have to hand it to Yahoo!, they have made up for shortcomings of search engines like Google who have accounted for the vast majority of search traffic to our sites over the past few years. I remember the days when Yahoo! was king of the search, only to lose it by focusing on content that searchers really are not interested in. But, it appears that Yahoo! has realized that search is important as a stand alone product and have finally focused on making their search results more relevant. Because of this, many of our sites now show Yahoo! at the top of the search engine referers, above Google, and I could not be happier. I think competition is a good thing and I would love to see there be more. Just like the old days when Altavista and Excite were competing with Yahoo for search traffic. Good luck guys.
