Pingomatic Issues
It looks like the people over at Pingomatic have found the limits of the WordPress blogging sofware. I have become a big fan of WordPress in the past couple of months as it is not only a great blogging platform, but a simple CMS (Content Management System) for people to build a website on. Recently however, Pingomatic has been unavailable during peak times during the day and this is surely due to the popularity of the Pingomatic service. I get WordPress “cannot connect to database” erros when I try to load a page. I am sure this is because they are simply getting too many requests and WP was not build to handle this kind of volume. I am sure that the people over at WordPress have been notified and are working on a solution for the problem.
BTW, I put together my own three column Word Press theme the other day, so check it out if you need a clean, 3 column starting point for your next Word Press site.
