Larry Page at Stanford

Found a great video of Google founder Larry Page two weeks ago, speaking at Stanford University. The video touches on so many things, but some of the most interesting are how and why they started Google in the first place. In a nutshell, they tried to peddle their search technology around to ever search engine of the day, but none of them were interested in improving search according to Page. When prices for hardware (ATA drives in particular) dropped low enough, it became economically feasable for them to start Google on their own. Pretty crazy stuff. Page goes on to talk about many of the tools that Google uses in-house and that they develop for public consumption. It is about an hour and a half long, but definitely worth watching.
