Google Video Coming Soon
The more I look, the more the big search portals like Yahoo! and Google look alike. Recently, Yahoo! has made their search interface look pretty much identical in feel and functionality to Google’s search. Yahoo now gives you the ability to search for images, just like you can do on Google (and have been able to do for quite some time). But, one thing I did notice a couple of weeks ago on Yahoo! was the ability to search the web for video files that matched your search query. I thought this was a pretty neat addition and one I had not seen from our friends at Google.
Well, it appears that I spoke to soon. Poking through Google’s Blog tonight, I noticed a post about Google’s advanced announcement that their video search is on the way.
What I really wonder is how much Google will begin to look like Yahoo! now that they are a publicly traded company. Shareholder pressure and public scrutiny are two things that Google is not used to. It will be interesting to see how they handle it.
