Well, in case you have not heard, Google is on crack. It appears that they have stumped the SEO/SEM community and just about everyone else recently with their latest “update.” I have heard theories from just about every point on the map and they are all different. It seems though, that most people are getting “hurt” by this update or that their search results positions have been hurt…most of the time pretty dramatically. We have seen some sites under our command get wiped off the map as far as Google is concerned and others that have been around since the beginning of time, with no SEO, no link building no nothing, shoot to the top of the SERPs. It is incredible. I have decided that what will be will be, and I will go back to doing what I like to do best, and that is to write. Using my Blogger dashboard to manage all of my blogs, I can creaate new content and articles whenever I want to. And, using other tools like MagpieRSS, I can integrate that content into my sites with ease.
So, no matter what happens with the latest updates over at Google, I will still be here, creating new aticles and talking about current events that affect the users of my sites. One that that is interesting though and I thought I would mention it here. I was recently reading a post over at SEO Chat where a user was asking, “why” Google had basically removed his site from their index. He spoke about his Adwords account and how he is so mad that he was not going to advertise any more. It began to make me wonder about the ability of G to maniuplate their earnings by removing the sites that advertise with them from the organic search results. Even if they rotated them in and out, people whose sole source of income is derived from search positioning will be forced in many cases to increase their adwords spend or find a new line of work. It is definitely a conspiracy theory and very far fetched, but imagine if Google were able to beat their last earnings estimate by more than they did this time. What would Google stock trade for then?
