Does MSN Search Favor IIS Hosted Websites?
In an interesting article Ivor Hewitt apparently noticed what appears to be a favoring of IIS hosted websites in the MSN Search results pages. In a series of tests, Ivor checked various search terms and the results of Google, Yahoo and others against those of MSN. It appears that there is some sort of boost given to IIS hosted sites (websites hosted on Internet Information Server - Microsoft’s web server application) in the MSN Search algo. IF this is true, it will probably not come as much of a surprise to anyone out there. Microsoft always seems to build something like this into their products. Clearly more testing needs to be done here, but it certainly appears that there may be some boost or bias at the present time.
