AOL Launches Free Web Mail
In an effort to acquire new customers, AOL has launched a free, web-based, email service. The company has been losing customers each year since it’s high of 27MM customers in 2002. AOL hopes to attract as many as 20MM additional users to their new, ad-supported, web email system in the next few years. I am not sure that people will be looking to use AOL over other established players like Hotmail, Yahoo! and Google, but you never know.
