Adsense Competition from Yahoo!?
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a little more competition in the SE world today? Well, if you have been hoping for an alternative to Adsense, there may be hope. I reported in another post a few weeks ago that we received a call from a representative at Overture about our interest in a system similar to Adsense, but put out by Overture. She told me that they were conducting market research to see what potential demand for such a system would be and that she was receiving some positive feedback. She would not give much more information than that.
Today, I noticed a post by Nathan Weinberg that may hold the clues to a new Yahoo! “Adsense type” system. Could be interesting to see how this plays out, but since Yahoo! appears to be copying everything else Google is doing these days, why not their biggest profit center?
