Link Formatting
It looks like SE’s like Google and Yahoo are getting smarter. It appears that something big is going on over at Google as many sites are losing a large number of pages. It seems that pages that have a large number of links on them relative to the amount of content, are being removed from the index because they may be doorway pages or pages that add little value and only exist to skew search results to that or other pages.
This has got me thinking that maybe there needs to be a new methodology to the format of links on a page. Having 5 outbound links at the bottom of a page with no text around each of the links, is probably pretty easy for Google or any other search engine to see. So, if I were someone buying or placing links on other sites, I would be sure that they have text around them…as much as you can…to make sure they do not look like they exist simply to build PR, link popularity or any other element SE’s use in their algo’s.

Maybe that would increase PageRank but wouldn’t it ruin your website? I don’t think that high pagerank will do if you have a low quality website.
